Mahindra has been selling the Xylo powered by Mahindra’s mHawk engine ever since the Xylo was facelifted in February 2012. The engine was however restricted to the top-end E9 trim of the Xylo. Terrafugia (Latin for “escape the earth”) has come up with a one of a kind idea : developing a plug-in hybrid car that can fly. The company on Sunday said it has begun feasibility studies of a four-seat, vertical takeoff and landing plug-in hybrid-electric flying car, the TF-X. Skoda Auto has revealed pictures of the 2013 Skoda Rapid Sport, a new performance-oriented concept, which could go on into production as the RS variant of the current Skoda Rapid. The Rapid Sport variant gets a ton of visual upgrades on the exterior transforming it from an average sedan to a performance oriented sports sedan. German auto giant, BMW, has launched two diesel powered variants of the Mini Cooper Countryman in India. The new Mini Cooper D Countryman and the Cooper D Countryman High are priced at Rs. 25.6 lakh and Rs. 28.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) respectively. Both the variants will be brought into India via the CKD route.

The first Indian made sportscar, the DC Design Avanti, will be manufactured at the company’s new plant in Gujarat. The new facility with a capacity to produce 3,500 units of DC’s supercars would come up at Sanand, Dilip Chhabria stated on Wednesday. German luxury car maker Audi has become the top selling brand in the Indian luxury car space during the first quarter of 2013. During this period Audi India has sold 2,616 cars, marking a sales growth of 15 per cent over the same period last year.
