Video : Aston Martin V12 Zagato makes its worldwide debut
And finally we get to see for real what Zagato and Aston Martin partnership’s latest offering, the Aston Martin V12 Zagato’s production version looks like. The vehicle was officially revealed at the 2012 Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance before it makes its way to the upcoming 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
The new Aston Martin V12 Zagato is essentially a re-skinned version of the V12 Vantage designed by Italian coachbuilder Zagato in celebration of the golden anniversary of the 1962 DB4GT Zagato. The partnership takes inspiration from the past, to create a modern descendent of classics such as the DB4GT Zagato, V8 Vantage Zagato and DB7 Zagato with the V12 Zagato being the latest member in this lineup.
The Aston Martin V12 Zagato is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine producing 510bhp and 570Nm of torque through a six-speed manual gearbox. AM have used techniques pioneered with the One-77 in its construction – the Zagato’s bonnet, signature ‘double-bubble’ roof and doors are hand-crafted aluminium, while the front and rear fenders, door sills and boot lid surround are made from carbon fibre. Inside, the cockpit is finished in hand-stitched leather with the Z-Zagato logo embroidered into the headrests and rear parcel shelf.
Only 150 units of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato will be produced with the vehicle being priced at US$519,700 or €398,500. And don’t forget to check out the promo video below followed by the official pictures.
