Honda Brio launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 3.95 lakh
Honda has launched its eagerly awaited hatch, the Honda Brio hatch in India at a price tag of Rs. 3.95 lakh. The launch precedes the festive months of October and November when car sales are at its peak in India with sales going up by as much as 20%.
To be available in four variants E, S, S Option and V, the E variant is the base entry model with power steering, air conditioning and beige interiors. The V variant is the top of the line variant and is priced at Rs. 5.1 lakh. Specially “Designed and Developed for the Indian market” is how Honda marks the Brio’s entry in India. First showcased at the 2010 Auto Expo in India and later on launched in Thailand earlier this year, the Honda Brio is based on Honda’s “Man Maximum, Machine Minimum” design philosophy.
Powering the Honda Brio will be a 1.2 Liter i-VTEC petrol engine capable of 88 Bhp of peak power and 109 Nm of peak torque. This is the same engine that can be found on the Honda Jazz along with a lil’ bit of tweaking for improved fuel efficiency of an ARAI certified figure of 18.4 KMPL.
