Mahindra and Mahindra has just launched the 2011 Maxximo Mini Van, a small commercial passenger vehicle, in India. Based on the Mahindra Maxximo platform, the new Mini Van is an entry-level passenger carrier. The new Maxximo Mini Van will now be competing with Tata Ace Magic, Force Motors’ Trump Trip and the segment topper Maruti Omni.
Priced at Rs. 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the Mini Van is costlier than Tata Ace Magic by approx. Rs. 30,000. For the additional cost, Mahindra seems to have bundled in quite a interesting list of features on board the Maxximo Mini Van.
The Mahindra Maxximo Mini Van is powered by the same 900cc, 25 Bhp-55 Nm CRDe diesel engine which is found on the Maxximo Pick Up. Load sensitive proportioning valve brakes and bigger box sections on the monocoque body are said to improve safety. The new Mini Van also boats of superior ride quality with independent front suspensions.
Fuel efficiency of the Mahindra Maxximo Mini Van is around 18 kmpl, the best in class, along with a top speed of more than 70 kmph. At an attractive price tag of Rs. 3.2 lakh, the Maxximo Mini Van is definitely the better choice among the list of entry level passenger carriers in India.
Starting today the car will be sold at 78 dealerships in phase one and across all dealerships by June end in phase two.
