Mahindra Thar DI 4×2, 4×4 Jeep launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 4.47 lakh
Mahindra launched the Thar DI SUV in India with both 4×2 and 4×4 variants yesterday. The 4×2 variant has been priced at Rs. 4.47 lakhs (ex-showroom, Jaipur) and Rs 5.99 lakh for the 4×4 variant.
The Mahindra Thar will be available with two engine options : DI and CRDe. The DI version of the Thar is capable of producing about 63 bhp@3200 rpm and 18.2 kgm of torque at 1440 rpm. The CRDe version,on the other hand, is to be powered by a more advanced 2.5 CRDe, capable of churning out 105 bhp@3800 rpm and a staggering 25.2 kgm of torque from as low as 1800-2000 rpm.
Speaking at the launch, Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, M&M, said, “Having realised the potential of this emerging segment of offroad enthusiasts and lifestyle seekers, we have launched the Thar in India. It is an extension of our legacy and what Mahindra stands for.”
