2012 new Chevrolet Sail hatch to be launched in India by mid 2012
GM India unveiled the Chevrolet Sail hatch at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. Prior to the official unveiling, the new Sail hatch had already been spotted undergoing testing numerous times in various parts of the country. And the latest bit of news surrounding the new 2012 Chevrolet Sail is that GM has plans of launching the new hatch in India by mid 2012.
The new Chevrolet Sail will be replacing the outdated Chevrolet U-VA and will be taking on the likes of the new Maruti Swift and the upcoming new Hyundai i20. The Chevrolet Sail will also be addressing to a major drawback the Chevrolet U-VA suffered from : the lack of a diesel engine. Under the hood of the Sail hatch will be a GM branded 1.3 Fiat Multijet diesel unit and a 1.2 Liter petrol unit which currently does duty on the Chevrolet Beat.

The front view features Chevrolet’s signature styling cues, including a dual-port grille adorned with a golden Chevy bowtie. The new Sail hatch will feature Chevrolet’s dual-cockpit design and is expected to be spacious. Another factor that will help in increasing interior space is the placement of the fuel tank which has been shifted to the middle of the vehicle.
The new Chevrolet Sail is expected to be priced somewhere in between the Ford Figo and the new Maruti Swift. Stay tuned as we will be keeping you updated as soon as we manage to get hold of any further information regarding the new Sail hatch.
