As per recent reports, Chevrolet will be launching it’s all new global SUV, the 2013 Chevrolet TrailBlazer in India. The new SUV will be competing with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Outlander, Honda CRV and Renault Koleos in the Indian market.
The vehicle shown in the images is a show vehicle which debuted at the 2011 Dubai International Motor Show so when the production model follows next year it may differ slightly from this concept. According to AutoCar India, the new Chevrolet TrailBlazer will be launched in India at a price tag of around Rs. 17 lakh and will be assembled in India through completely knocked down kits sourced from Thailand, where this SUV will be manufactured for exports across the globe.
Powering the new 2013 Chevrolet TrailBlazer we have 2.8-litre, 180bhp diesel unit and a more frugal 2.5-litre, 150bhp diesel unit. Despite the low expected price, the new Chevrolet TrailBlazer is larger than the Captiva and also offers a more powerful unit under the hood.
Inside the new TrailBlazer, the features list includes an auxiliary power plug with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, an overhead console that integrates the HVAC system with onboard infotainment, second row 60/40 split seats with single latch forward gravity tumble, fold-flat capability, and six-degree seat-back reclining along with integrated folding armrests with cup holders and third row 50/50 split seats with center console storage and fold-flat capability.
Exact launch plans are still uncertain but expect an Indian launch to follow soon after the new SUV hits Thailand by early 2012.
