2013 Ford Shelby GT500 facelift has a top speed of 322 km/h
Well to be quite frank, this is one muscle car that is all about numbers. Don’t get us wrong here, the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 facelift is definitely a looker, but with figures that the muscle car has to offer, you would be a fan of the car no matter what the car looked like.
Under the hood of the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 is a supercharged 5.8 liter aluminum-block V8 that produces 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS) and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque. This engine unit is coupled to an upgraded six-speed manual gearbox. Add to all this a top speed of 200 miles per hour (322 km/h) and a new carbonfibre driveshaft, cross-drilled block and heads and updated camshaft profiles and you have one hell of a mean drag machine.
The 2013 Shelby also gets the kind of aerodynamic attention you’d hope for in a car taking you the other side of 200mph. You can see the bigger splitter right down low there, but what you can’t see is the revised grille. This not only feeds all that extra air to the blower and its ancillaries, but also generates downforce.

Cosmetic upgrades to the Mustang line include a snarkier front end, HID headlights accented with LED strips and sequential taillights that flash in tandem with the turn signals. Both a Performance Package and a Track Package are on offer with the Shelby GT500. Ford has reinvented the muscle car as we know it. With all the modern underpinnings and horsepower going into the making of the new car we can expect the new 2013 Shelby GT500 give its European rivals a taste of their own medicine.
