New Hyundai Elantra launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 12.51 lakh

  • New Hyundai Elantra launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 12.51 lakh

Hyundai’s D-segment sedan, the new Hyundai Elantra Fluidic has been launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 12.51 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base 1.8 VTVT S variant. Being a D-segment sedan, the new Elantra will be taking on the likes of the Toyota Corolla, Skoda Laura and the Chevrolet Cruze which currently dominate the segment.

The new Hyundai Elantra will be available in both petrol and diesel variants with the petrol unit being a 1.8L engine capable of producing a peak power of 148Bhp and peak torque of 180Nm featuring variable valve timing and direct injection. The diesel counterpart is the same 1.6L unit found in the Verna Fluidic with peak power of 126Bhp and peak torque of 260Nm. Both the engines come with 6 speed manual and automatic gearbox options.

Hyundai Elantra Interiors Features

Onboard features include a dual zone climate control option, cruise control, puch button start with keyless entry, ventilated front seats, 6 way fully adjustable driver seat, steering mounted audio controls with Bluetooth, cooled glove box, rear seat audio controls, electric wing mirrors with heating function and rear parking sensors with a display on the inner rear view mirror.

The interiors will sport a dual tone trim cocoa black and beige. Exterior color options will be limited to six choices – black, silver, white, bronze, red and blue. The new Hyundai Elantra Fluidic come loaded with a range of safety features like Electronic Stability Control(ESC), Vehicle Stability Management(VSM), Hill Hold Control, 6 Airbags and Anti-Lock Braking System(ABS).

“It is a global car and has been packaged intelligently. It has won laurels around the world and we are confident that it will perform well here,” said Nalin Kapoor, HMIL senior general manager during the launch.

Hyundai has already received around 800 bookings for the new Elantra with the numbers set to increase in the coming weeks.

    Hope the auto trans does not have the same problems as the  US one..Otherwise a very good car to go for…

       i think those problems were with the earlier generation…anyways the engines in india are not same with US
