International Cars & Motors Limited, the automotive section of the Sonalika Group has replaced the Rhino MUV with an almost similar vehicle called the ICML Extreme MUV. The new ICML Extreme MUV will be available in India at a starting price tag of Rs. 5.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Hyderabad) and will be gunning at the popular people movers in India like the Mahindra Bolero and the Tata Sumo.
The new ICML Extreme MUV will be manufactured at its Hoshiarpur plant in Punjab which has a capacity of producing about 2,000 units a month of the Extreme MUV. The new MUV will be available in both BSIII and BSIV compliant variants with the BSIV compliant engine being the 2 Liter, common rail turbo diesel unit capable of producing 120 Bhp-280 Nm, making it the most powerful engine in its class. The BSIII compliant engine is a 2 liter, direct injection, turbo diesel engine producing 99 Bhp-240 Nm.
The ICML Extreme MUV is available in four variants – LD (non-AC), LD (AC), SD and VD, with flexible seating layout and can accommodate between 7 to 10 passengers. Visual changes that keep the Extreme apart from the Rhino MUV include minor visual changes and slightly modified headlamps with the major focus being placed on the changes in the engine.
ICML is looking to gather some sales for the Extreme MUV during the upcoming festive season of Diwali and is also planning on launching a new vehicle based on the Haval 5 in the coming months.
