Mahindra has been selling the Xylo powered by Mahindra’s mHawk engine ever since the Xylo was facelifted in February 2012. The engine was however restricted to the top-end E9 trim of the Xylo. Mahindra has been for quite some time now working on a new compact SUV codenamed the S101. The new Mahindra S101 is currently in its testing phase across various locations in India as the folks at MotorVikatan have managed to snap a couple of shots of the S101′s test mule. Mahindra-SsangYong will be launching The Rexton SUV in India on the 17th of October, 2012. The upcoming compact SUV from Mahindra based on the Mahindra Xylo MPV platform has be christened the 2012 Mahindra Quanto. The official word from Mahindra is that the launch will be in the second week of September. The Quanto has been designed in house by Mahindra & Mahindra and will measure in at under 4 meters in length, qualifying it for the 10% lower excise duties applicable to sub 4 meter cars in India. Indian Auto giant, Mahindra, has upgraded the Mahindra Thar SUV bringing in air conditioning and an engine immobilizer to the package. The new features are applicable only to the 4×4 variant that is powered by a CRDI engine. Mahindra continues to sell the 4×2 and 4×4 version with the DI engine in BS3 markets, but they do not receive these additions. Read more →
