Feature rich Mahindra Quanto launched at a price tag of Rs. 5.82 lakh

Months of speculations, rumors and spyshots later, Mahindra has finally launched the Quanto compact SUV in India. The base variant is priced at Rs. 5.82 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra) making the new Mahindra Quanto the cheapest diesel powered SUV in the Indian automotive scene. Available in 5+2 seater layout, the Mahindra Quanto measuring in at under 4 meters in length, is expected to eat into diesel hatchback and entry level sedan sales in India.

The Mahindra Quanto will be available in four trims : C2, C4, C6 and C8 with prices going all the way up to Rs. 7.36 lakh for the top end C8 variant. Powering the Quanto is a a modified version of the mHawk diesel engine called mCR100. The mCR1000 twin turbo diesel engine mated to a five-speed gearbox generates a peak power of 100 Bhp and a peak torque of 240 Nm. The SUV has an ARAI certified mileage of 17.2 km/l.

Moving on to the features end, the new Mahindra Quanto gets alloy wheels, power windows, a sleek Digital Drive Assist System (DDAS), driver seat height adjust, body colored bumpers, electric wing mirrors and an integrated audio system with CD, MP3 and radio, rear defogger, ABS, front airbags (driver and passenger), fog lamps and a reverse parking sensor on the top end C8 variant.

The Quanto is available in 4 exciting variants and 6 elegant colors to suit a variety of tastes. These include Fiery Black, Mist Silver, Toreador Red, Java Brown, Diamond White and Rocky Beige.
