Mahindra Verito Electric sedan coming to 2012 Indian Auto Expo
Mahindra & Mahindra India have announced their plans for the upcoming 2012 Indian Auto Expo and from the information gathered from their press release, they are planning it big. Four hot products by Mahindra will be on showcase at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo and the most striking part of the entire thing is that Mahindra will be putting up on display an electric version of the Verito Sedan.
Before we go deeper into the Verito Electric Sedan, lets take a look at the other three products that Mahindra will be putting up on display at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. First up we have two vehicles from Mahindra’s South Korean acquisition, Ssangyong. The Rexton E SUV and the Korando SUV are both two products for which Mahindra has plans of introducing into the Indian market somewhere down the line in 2012 and they both will be up on display at the exposition.
Next up we have the Mahindra Reva NXR which is another eagerly awaited product in the Indian market. Mahindra had earlier taken over Reva Electric and they seem to be betting heavily on the prospects of electric car sales growing in the Indian market and thus we have the final entrant, the Mahindra Verito Electric sedan. The Verito Electric sedan on display may not exactly be a production ready version but only a concept, although this is just a wild guess from our end.
“The Delhi Auto Expo is the perfect platform to showcase Mahindra’s commitment to technological advancements and innovative automotive solutions that are showcased in our gamut of vehicles from two wheelers to heavy trucks. Our eco-friendly vehicles are proof of our commitment to a cleaner environment, fuel efficiency and emphasis on customer satisfaction. Mahindra’s Sustainable Mobility Solutions illustrate our commitment to the research, product development and advancement of the most cutting-edge technologies to bring about a cleaner and greener tomorrow,” Dr Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra, said.
Also on display will be the Thar, Xylo, Scorpio and XUV500. However the Mahindra Mini Xylo wont be making it to the 2012 Indian Auto Expo for which we think Mahindra has entirely different plans. We bet Mahindra are waiting for Ford to introduce the EcoSport in India and then go ahead and finalize their plans for the Mini Xylo thereby leaving nothing to chance.
Stay tuned for more updates.
