This Indian festive season, the usual big car launches have made their presence along with the usual festive discounts to add to the cheer. In between all the din, Mahindra has, ever so quietly slipped in a brand new variant targeted mainly at festive season car buyers, the Verito Executive Sedan. This special “Executive Edition” of the Verito Sedan will be available only for the top end 1.5 Liter diesel engined variant.
Going into a brief background into the Verito, the car essentially is a rebadged Mahindra-Renault Logan, making its debut as French automaker Renault, exited the Mahindra-Renault alliance to go it alone in India. Mahindra bought itself rights to sell the rebadged Renault Logan and ever since, Mahindra’s superior distribution and marketing muscle has ensured that the once slow selling Logan, in Verito guise has become a brisk seller averaging about 1,500-1,600 units a month, from 800 odd units.
When the Renault Logan became the Mahindra Verito, changes to the car were predominantly cosmetic, with a new grille up fron and a big chrome strip on the boot apart from the different Mahindra badging. So, the Verito retained the traditional strengths of the Logan, of being a wide bodied comfortable and spacious car that could seat 5 adults, while also featuring the ultra responsive and fuel efficient 65 Bhp, 1.5 Liter K9Kcommon rail, turbo diesel engine.
A cabbie favorite, the Verito Sedan’s rebadging has now seen it finding higher acceptance among family car buyers as well. Thus, the Executive Edition essentially is targeted at the family car buyer who is looking for that little bit of differentiation in the Verito that will make his/her ride unique from the other Veritos on the streets. To do just that, the Verito now gets new body cladding and graphics as the main cosmetic differences on the outside.
