Mahindra XUV500 bags 25,000 bookings in the second phase
Indian Automotive major, Mahindra and Mahindra has closed the second phase of booking for the 2012 Mahindra XUV500 and has bagged over 25,000 orders in a period of 10 days. Bookings for the XUV500 had re-opened on 25th January across 19 cities in India namely Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh / Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jallandhar, Patiala, Kochi, Trivandrum, Calicut, Trissur, Coimbatore, Nagpur and Nasik.
Mahindra has added that a lottery system will pick out 7,200 customers out of all the registrants and vehicles are going to be delivered in a timely manner. Mahindra said this would ensure transparency and fairness to customers. The details about the draw will be announced on the Mahindra XUV500′s official website.
The company had first suspended bookings last year in October after launching the vehicle on September 29, as four months production of over 8,000 units was sold out within just 10 days. The next phase of bookings can be expected to open after three months or so.
