2012 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire compact sedan launch in India on February 1st
In a startling revelation, Maruti Suzuki India will be launching the new 2012 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire compact sedan(CS) in India on the 1st of February, 2012. Also, we have for you a load full of clear undisguised images of the new Dzire along with majority of the details regarding the new 2012 Swift Dzire CS.
To start, the new Maruti Swift Dzire being a compact sedan will be measuring in at under 4 meters taking full advantage of the Indian Govt.’s sub-4 meter regulation thereby allowing Maruti Suzuki to position the new Swift Dzire competitively in the Indian market. The existing Swift Dzire full sized sedan will continue to sell in the Indian market as a stripped out version which will be positioned below the new 2012 Swift Dzire.
The new Dzire CS will be available in both petrol and diesel powered version with the petrol unit being the 1.2 liter K-series engine found on the Swift while the diesel engine will be the 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet unit. Also the top end version of the new Swift Dzire CS is rumored to be coming in with an four speed automatic transmission in addition to the five speed manual gearbox, which is quite a bit of a shocker.
Design inspiration for the new Swift Dzire comes from the new 2011 Maruti Suzuki Swift with the front fascia and interior dashboard layout all taking its design cues from the new Swift hatch. There are however a few design changes which distinguish the new compact sedan from the hatch. A new front grille, triangular fog lamps and trendy wheel caps along with the obvious increase in length makes the new Dzire CS stand out from the Swift hatch.
The interiors have also been revamped with a new two tone dashboard that features an upmarket integrated audio interface, steering mounted audio controls, stylish air-con vents and a scoop for under dash storage space all making it into the new Swift Dzire. Like the new Swift hatchback, the Dzire compact sedan will offer almost 150 new features over the existing generation of the car.
The current generation Swift Dzire full size sedan is priced between Rs. 4.94 lakh and Rs. 7.29 lakh, so we are expecting a starting price of around Rs. 5.25 lakh for the base variant of the new Swift Dzire CS.
