2012 Maruti Suzuki XA Alpha Compact SUV unveiled; Pictures, Details
India’s leading automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has unveiled the new 2012 Maruti Suzuki XA Alpha Compact SUV at the ongoing 2012 Indian Auto Expo in Delhi. The XA Alpha SUV showcased at the event is in the concept form and the final production version is expected to be out by 2013.
The new Maruti Suzuki XA Alpha compact SUV is a five seater and measures in under four meter in length. The concept version on display at the event is a three door, however the production ready version is expected to be a five door version of the concept form. Also, the XA Alpha will be christened to a more catchy name once the production version gets out.
The XA Alpha measures 4 meters long, 1.9 meters wide, 1.6 meters tall and has a wheelbase of 2.9 meters. Although details of the engine that would be powering the production version of the XA Alpha have not been released, we are betting on the famed K-series petrol engine and the 1.3 Multijet diesel engine to make it under the hood of the production ready version.

Maruti Suzuki Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi at the event stated, “India is on course to become one of the top automobile economies of the world, powered by the middle class and continued government support. Customers will become more and more sophisticated. The choice of automobile will be dictated more and more by the way of life of customers. We will launch new products and create new categories to their choice,”
