Nissan Evalia launch date in India confirmed for September, 2012
Going by the numerous reports surfacing online, Nissan India will be launching the Evalia MPV in India by September, 2012. The game changer for Nissan in the MPV segement, the Nissan Evalia once launched will be taking on the likes of the Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova in the Indian MPV market.
Powering the Nissan Evalia will be a 1.5 litre dCi engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission that produces 85 bhp of power a peak torque of 200 Nm. Like the Nissan Micra, the Evalia will have an intelligent key system and a rear-view camera as well as being capable of seating 7 adults comfortably thanks to its non-traditional sliding door.

Nissan India had earlier showcased the vehicle at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo and the vehicle has also been spotted undergoing testing in India numerous times. Production of the Nissan Evalia will be at the Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Chennai. Expect base prices to be in the Rs. 7-8 lakh range.
Nissan India will not be the only manufacturer of the Evalia in India. Ashok Leyland who enjoy a partnership with Nissan will also launch a cheaper version, called the Stile sometime in 2013.
