Skoda Rapid Sedan Teaser Video out; Indian Launch in November
Skoda India has come up with a teaser video of it’s upcoming sedan for India, the Skoda Rapid. The Skoda Rapid will be hitting Indian shores first followed by a global launch later on. Production of the Skoda Rapid Sedan is already underway at Skoda’s Chakan plant in Pune.
So far, the only few details we have on the Skoda Rapid Sedan is that it is based on the Volkswagen Vento’s platform powered by Vento’s 1.6L petrol and diesel engine, looks close to a Fabia with a boot and will feature automatic variants. The engines remain the same 1.6 Liter petrol and common rail turbo diesel units, both producing 105 Bhp of peak power while the peak torque for the petrol and diesel engine are 153 Nm and 250 Nm respectively. Both these engines will be mated to a five speed manual gearbox as in the Volkswagen Vento.
Expected to be priced around Rs. 7 lakhs, the Skoda Rapid Sedan will be launched sometime in November, 2011. for now check out the teaser video of the Rapid :
