New Tata Nano 2012 edition launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 1.40 lakh
Tata Motors today launched the feature refreshed 2012 new Tata Nano in India. The 2012 new Tata Nano gets an improved ride quality, drivability and refreshed interiors. Fuel efficiency also gets a bump from an ARAI certified 23.6 km/l to 25 km/l. And the best part about the upgrade is the new Tata Nano’s price in India remains unchanged at Rs. 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the standard base variant.
Powering the new Tata Nano will be the same 2-cylinder, 624 cc petrol engine with an increase of three horsepower taking the total to 38 hp. While the car is definitely more powerful, it also offers better fuel efficiency of 25.4 kilometers per litre of petrol, up from 23.6 kilometers earlier.
The new Nano features beige interior which do add to the airy feel inside the car. The dashboard gets silver trim pieces which go well with the lighter theme of the interior. The gear lever too gets its own stylish treatment with a silver finished knob. Also, the much needed left side rear view mirror has been added on to the new model which was missing on the previous version. The seats, even on the CX version now get fabric covers in place of the old vinyl ones.
