The new 2012 Chevrolet Captiva will soon be getting an Indian launch. With a fresh new exterior design along with a few changes on the inside, the 2012 Chevrolet Captiva will be GM’s take on the Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Mahindra W201 SUV in India.
The new Chevrolet Captiva now gets the same next-gen nose as that found on the Chevrolet Beat and Chevrolet Cruze. As for the grill, design cues seem to have been taken from the Chevrolet Aveo RS Concept. The headlamps get a little flaring and the bumper too gets a redesign with styling based on the Aveo Concept as Chevrolet is pretty much particular in getting its concept designs into production. The dashboard gets a new jazzy look and the dual-tone grey-black seats seem to go well with the overall interior design.
Under the hood of the 2012 Chevrolet Captiva might be the same 2.0 L Diesel engine powering the current Chevrolet Captiva or GM might also bring in the new 2.2 L CRDi Diesel. The 2012 Chevrolet Captiva combines GM’s confident and dynamic new styling with an available active-on-demand all-wheel drive system that distributes power as needed. As for seating, the new Captiva will retain the advantages of its adaptable, theatre-style seating in three rows which comfortably accommodates up to seven passengers.
With quite a list of cars to compete against, GM is expected to price the new 2012 Chevrolet Captiva aggressively at a small increment ranging between Rs. 50,000 – 1 lakh over the current model.
